9.2 Advanced Certificates Fields

Understanding and activating advanced custom fields for certificates.

Updated over 7 months ago

These settings give you control over the text, structure, and visibility of fields on issued training certificates in Rekonnect. Some of the advanced options are toggles (display/hide) and others have the abilty to input text to globally define the text displayed on certificates.

Here’s what each field and toggle does

Completion text

Defines the sentence or phrase that introduces the certificate.
Example: “This is to verify that”

Certificate title

The Certificate Title is the text that appears prominently at the top of each issued training certificate. You can enter fixed text (e.g. "Certificate of Completion") or use placeholders to dynamically insert values from selected fields.

Using Dynamic Placeholders

You can use double curly braces {{ }} to reference values from dropdown fields or system fields. For example:

If you have a dropdown field called "Training Type" with the following options:

  • On-site

  • Off-site

  • Remote

Entering {{training type}} in the Certificate Title field, will tell the system to automatically replace that placeholder with the selected value.

This allows for flexible, personalized certificate titles based on how the training was delivered or categorized.

User label

Customizes the phrasing before the participant’s name.
Example: “has successfully completed”

Show Customer (Toggle)

Shows or hides the name of the customer (e.g., hospital, clinic) the user belongs to on the certificate.

- Of label: The word connecting the participant to the customer.
Example: “of” → “Marco Smith of St. John’s Hospital” can be adjusted for example changed to "works at" or similar.

Completed label

The statement that confirms the user’s completion.
Example: “Has successfully completed”

Training Contents label

A label for the section listing what was covered in the training.
Example: “Training Contents:”

Show Authorized By (Toggle)

Displays or hides the “Authorized by” section on the certificate.

  • Authorized By label: Text label preceding the name/title of the authorizer.
    Example: “Authorized by:”

  • Authorized By text: Custom or dynamic field to display who signed off on the certificate.
Example: {{admin}} dynamically inserts the admin's name

Show Issued Date (Toggle)

Controls whether to display the issue date and validity period on the certificate.

  • Issued Date label: Text shown before the date.
    Example: “Issued date:”
