Types of content in Rekonnect

Products

A Product in Rekonnect represents a MedTech item or solution. Each product includes essential metadata (e.g., name, description, UDI) and serves as the central hub to which training, documents, and forms are linked.

πŸ“Œ Once a product is published it must be linked to a customer, and then a user-group to become visible. A user must be placed into that user-group for them to access the product.

Training Packages

A Training Package is a bundled feature that includes one or more version-controlled Courses. Very similar to a product, it enables MedTech companies to deliver structured and trackable training content tied to specific topic or subject that is not product-related (for example "health & safety").

πŸ“Œ Once a training-package is published it must be linked to a customer, and then a user-group to become visible. A user must be placed into that user-group for them to access the training-package.

Courses

Courses are the structured educational components that live inside Products (and Training Packages). A Course is made up of one or more modules including documents, presentations, videos, images, and quizzes delivering interactive learning experiences to users. Courses are version-controlled individually, allowing MedTech companies to update and improve training material while maintaining regulatory clarity.

πŸ“Œ Courses can be either self-paced (tracked automatically) or instructor-led (manually marked as completed).

Documents

Documents are digital files (e.g., PDFs, images, videos) uploaded to support products and training. They are accessible from linked content and help users better understand how to use the product or complete training.

πŸ“Œ Documents must be linked to either a product or a training-package to be visible in the user-portal (and therefore product-users).

Forms

Forms are customizable feedback tools used to collect input from users about their experience with training, documents, or product-related content. Forms help MedTech companies understand user satisfaction, identify training gaps, and collect structured data for quality improvement.

πŸ“Œ Forms can be embedded in the user-portal or sent out proactively to gather insights via surveys.

Version Control (for content)

Rekonnect applies version control to all core content (Products, Courses, Documents, etc.), ensuring that only one version is published at a time. Updates are tracked as minor or major versions, and older versions are archived to maintain a clear audit trail.

πŸ“Œ Version control ensures that only the latest approved version of content is published and distributed to users.

Publish Workflow

All content follows a publishing workflow with defined states:

  • Creating – Initial draft stage.

  • Waiting for Approval – Submitted for review.

  • Updating – Being revised post-feedback.

  • Approved – Ready for release.

  • Published – Live and visible to end users.

  • Archived – Deprecated but stored for recordkeeping.

πŸ“Œ There are two different types of approval workflows, one that requires another administrator to approve a change, and the other that skips that step.
